US investors Buys a majority stake in SLOTXO Learning Pool, an online training company based in Londonderry.Marlin Equity Partners acquired Carlyle Cardinal Ireland (CCI), which invested in the company in 2016.Marlin will make a new investment that will help the company add 100 more jobs.

The company provides online training courses for core businesses and government organizations.

It was established in 2006 and has grown rapidly since CCI's investment has quadrupled its turnover.It employs approximately 260 people across the UK and US.
Learning Pool Chief Executive Paul McElvaney said the growth over the past five years has been "magical" and he is grateful for the help and encouragement from CCI.

CCI has invested £20 million in this business and it should yield good returns.
John Dolan, Managing Director of Cardinal Capital Group, said, “The learning resource is a great growth story for CCI.”McElvaney said Marlin was "the right partner to help us move forward and expand the Learning Pool brand globally."

Marlin is a California-based private equity firm focused on software and technology investments.Just raised 675 million euros to target investments in mid-range European companies.Jan-Olivier Fillols, managing director of the Marlin's London office, said the Learning Pool is "extremely well positioned to take advantage of this very attractive market opportunity.
